CMIT South Elementary school leader, Principal Ronald Miller!

Dear CMIT South Elementary Community,

Greetings on behalf of the Chesapeake Lighthouse Foundation. We write to you today with excitement and confidence having followed the procedures of Prince George’s County Public Schools in the hiring process for appointment of our new school principal for CMIT Elementary South! We received a number of qualified applicants and CLF worked with all candidates and PGCPS to find the best possible leader. 

With the interview process concluded, CLF is pleased to appoint Mr. Ronald Miller for our CMIT South Elementary Principal for the 2020-2021 school year!

With his passion for technology dating back to childhood, Mr. Miller arrives with an excitement to foster a love for technology and learning in the next generation. 

“I want to transcend socioeconomic and other diverse barriers in order to create access to educational programs for all students in diverse school systems. I also want to partner and mentor students, teachers, administrators, and parents to help them reach their educational goals.” 

Mr. Ronald A. Miller, Jr. is currently completing his dissertation at Howard University in Educational Leadership and Policy Studies. He is a 2009 graduate of Trinity University in Washington D.C. with a Master’s degree in Educational Administration. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in English and a minor in Secondary Education from Howard University (2005).    

Prior to this new leadership role, Ronald has spent the past fifteen years working in PGCPS schools system as a secondary classroom Reading English Language Arts teacher, Instructional Specialist for Digital Learning, Assistant Principal, and Acting Principal.  

Mr. Miller currently resides in Cheltenham, MD with his wife of 12 years and their two sons. Please welcome and support Mr. Miller in his new role at the helm of our CMIT Academy South Elementary Public Charter School!
