THREE MARYLAND STUDENT TRAC BRIDGE BUILDING TEAMS NAMED TO NATIONAL BRIDGE FINALIST

MDOT SHA’s TRAC Coordinator Aaron Jones, Acting Administrator Tim Smith, and Communications Special Projects Manager Chisa Winstead created a congratulatory message for Maryland’s three 2020 AASHTO Bridge Challenge Finalist teams. Only 18 teams were selected to compete in the 2020 AASHTO National Bridge Challenge in Kansas City, MO; however, it was unfortunately canceled out of concern for the safety of the students and need for continued social distancing to prevent the spread COVID-19. We congratulate: Savvy Scholars — an 8th-grade team from Chesapeake Math and IT North Middle School in Laurel – Maranna Nwozo, Jescie Tinio, Yashasri Gouda Na³ — An all-female 10th-grade team from Chesapeake Science Point in Hanover – Darsana Alagarsamy, Amna Tariq, Katrina Manalang Bring Your Own Balsa (BYOB) — An 11-12th grade team from Chesapeake Science Point in Hanover – Sarah Vo, Rafee Mirza, Dhruva Kothari Great job to all the students, coaches, and mentors at CLF!
